Our story
Welcome to Sara and Caio’s story
Come on in into our van, we’re getting everything ready to take you through the journey of our lives. We already got the fire started and the tea is almost ready. Can you smell this phenomenal scent? Hmm, I think is about time! Adding a bit of honey by the moonlight. Now we’re set to take off.
Caio Maia & Sara Barreiro born on 12/04/1997 and 1998
Two passionate beings, in love with life, knowledge and with each other. Both entrepreneurs, freedom seekers and biology graduates. Well, Caio is graduating on Marine biology, he has a sea core, born on the shores of Rio de Janeiro whilst Sara has both degrees but tends to be more associated with the mountains and hills of Trás-os-Montes. When seen together they are most likely living on the beach or travelling on Ted, their self-constructed camper van. They love to explore human potential, be conscious in their living and uncover new natural biomes (travelling). Both of them are discovering themselves in a range of subjects whithin profesional life, from being a scuba scientific and dive master to jewelry maker or from farm worker to neuroscience investigator apprentice crossing some scientific research of microalgae, there’s only so much they could aim. Although, they chose to revogate the estability of a paycheck to share important values learnt on or from they’re travels. How important it is to conservate, observe and connect with our planet.
On humankind they stand, diversifying as a must and being creative as a free healing project.
For that, they started D r u i d a , that has a whole new story attached to it: Officially born in October 2020, the idea appeared on the year of covid-19 outbreak, when the couple was traveling throughout Portugal from north to south and back on Ted. During their journey they would stop in dazzling landscapes, each with distinctive natural heritage whereupon they always found themselves collecting some kind of natural material like wood, stones, bones, shells ending up making handicrafts of places that they’ve been to. It doesn’t end in natural resources, they had people giving them other materials that wouldn’t be used for instance, wire and beads which allowed the couple to explore creatively harmonious interconnection between nature and human beings while investing time creating a piece. After a while, after a lot of support and incentive from their friends and family, they finally came up with the brilliant idea of sharing their work with the world for a fair price minding mostly their time and living costs.
Druida was then, born.

The Dark Knight & Sara’s moon
Born some day on July, 2016
Mr. Wayne once called Duda was adopted from a shelter by Sara on October,16 when she understood that that little baby cat with an odd look alike appearence to Batman had to be a part of her evolution journey.
At first, was definitely a bigger challenge than she thought. Mister W. was really wild and did not accept certain restrictions, once he attacked her to the point of making her figure out if she had to give him back or if she should be the one trusting in that cat. The second hypothesis was really the one she could see herself thriving, it involves commitment and willingness to be open-minded.
Together they grew and outperformed regular limits Humans tend to put over relationships with cat species. When we nourish deeper harmonious connections we get flow and balanced outcomes.
‘Mistah Weini’ is an active camper van lover, free wanderer with the most scary staring gaze and cute meow. Hard to impress, has traveled a great amount of time, loves pick-up places, free walks through riversides, sleeping under the blankets when it’s raining and to sleep really… a lot.
Sometimes, they still fight but now it’s only playing. These two found out equilibrium.

Born some time on 2019
Manga was adopted by Caio on a sunday in November19, when a message from the universe sent both into a long-lasting healing journey. At first it was a slow hard process since Manga had been abandoned in a cold night with about 1-2 months of life, making her develop separation anxiety.
She spent the first week in Praia de Faro under Caio’s bed, always in fear displaying symptoms of mistreatment. Everyday Caio would bow and try to interact with her, but only on the 6th day she came near him. The freedom he gave her and the affection they exchanged was slowly healing deep wounds in both. After that, the path started to write itself.
Manga became a woods and beach explorer. She learned to behave, met a lot of friends, played with her beloved sticks, and reached her full loving potential. At some point, she had a Good Morning routine where she would go give good mornings to each friend’s house.
Mangúria has a brilliant personality, loves kisses, good mornings, walks in nature, to sleep under de blankets and something to bite. When you see her shaking herself it’s probably because Ted’s engine is starting, or she wants to get out!
Caio and Manguinha found each other in love, affection, and freedom. They provided light for one another and now they let it shine for others.
Beaches and woods are her home
If you come across a stick, that’s it
She’ll never leave it alone.
Be aware of her bliss, she’ll steal you a kiss.
